RULES:
Our events adhere to the IBJJF ruleset.
However, all blue, purple, brown and black belt fights will run for 6 minutes.
This rule set can be viewed in the link below:
WEIGH INS
Weigh ins for junior athletes will begin at 8:15am. Weigh ins for Adult & Master athletes will be open from 10:30am. You may weigh in anytime from these times, until 1 hour before your division is due to begin.
All weigh ins are WITHOUT the Gi, with ZERO TOLERANCE.
We do not offer division changes on the day.
BRACKETS AND SCHEDULE:
The brackets and schedule will be available to view via the website or the smoothcomp event page. They can be found on the event page ‘Schedule’ tab. Event schedules are dynamic and division start times may fluctuate. It is key for all athletes and parents to track the schedule on an event day.
The Schedule & Brackets are usually posted on the Monday, the week of an event.
Gi divisions will run first in the morning, followed by all cash prize Gi absolutes and finishing with the No-Gi divisions.
Junior and Juvenile divisions are scheduled for the morning.
The full event schedule is released the week of an event.
DIVISION MERGES:
Once the registration has closed, and the final athlete amendments day has passed, we shall begin merging athletes alone in their division, based on their preferences selected when registering. The final athlete check day email will then be sent out, for athletes to contact us should a division merge not be suitable. Competitors that remain alone in a division after mergers are completed should contact us to move this entry over to another event/hold a credit for future use.
AMENDING AN ENTRY: Competitors can edit or cancel their registration anytime until the event amendments deadline. For more information on how to do this, see the following link:
TEAM TROPHIES: During an event, team points will be tallied and available to view via the event page. The top 3 teams from an event will be awarded a team trophy; head coaches should make contact following an event, and a personalised engraved trophy will be sent out to them, or made available to collect at another upcoming event.
COACH PASSES: Only Brown or Black Belts who actively coach at or own an academy will be eligible for a coach pass at our events. This is to ease the number of people in the coaches/athlete area. Security check points will be in place to ensure those entering the area have a coach pass - we request that you be respectful to staff always. Other coaches will still be able to coach athletes with ease from the outside of the mats.
To obtain a coach pass, please send the following information to info@allstarsbjj.co.uk with the subject line ‘Coach Pass Request’:
•Name
•Team Name
•Belt / Rank
•Position within academy
REFUND POLICY: We ask that anyone that is looking to enter to only do so if they are happy for their entrance to be moved to another event/hold a credit for you to use at our future events, should we not be able to find you an opponent. Once the normal registration period ends and the registration moves onto the late entry period, only credits to a future event will be applied should you no longer be able to make an event.
