Is this a gi or no-gi competition?

-The majority of our events have both gi and no-gi divisions, both of which are ran according to IBJJF rules. You can view the ruleset at: http://ibjjf.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/RulesIBJJF_v4_en-US.pdf

How do I register?

-You can register for each event via this website. Each event section will have a link taking you to the Topgame registration system website. We recommend creating an account with Topgame as this allows you to make changes yourself to things such as rank, team name, weight division.

Can i enter the adults division if im under 18 ?

-Unfortunately because of health and safety reason as well as insurance we can't allow under 18s competing in adults divisions.

What are the weight categories?

-Please refer to the 'weight divisions' page.

Is there a competitors list?

-Yes, the competitor list once made live is avaliable to view at all times via the topgame website.

When will the brackets be posted?

-The brackets for each division will be avaliable to view shortly after the schedule has been released.

What time is the weigh in for my category?

-Weigh in times will be released with the event schedule. You can weigh in up to 45 minutes before your division start time. Priority will be given to athletes fighting earlier. If you are fighting in both gi and no-gi divisions, you will weigh in once in the morning. Remember to allow enough time to warm up.

Will there be an absolute?

-Yes, we run split weight cash prize absolutes for adults and masters, which have an entry of £15 and award Gi and cash prizes. You will need to register for the absolute before the event, and you do not need to have medalled.

Can I fight in the absolute only?

-Yes, you may fight in the absolute only, though you must have paid for a division. Please contact us if you do not wish to fight in the division, as once you have registered for the division, we can then remove you from the bracket.

Is there a minimum amount of people needed for the cash prize absolute?

-Yes, the minimum amount of athletes needing to be registered in each cash prize absolute in order for the full amount to be given is 7. If there is less than 7, the absolute will not run and athletes will be contacted to be refunded.

I’ve registered at a belt level but have since been promoted. What should I do?

-Congratulations! Please contact us by emailing us at info@allstarsbjj.co.uk and we will move you up to your new belt level.

Can we take pictures and videos on the day?

-Yes, though please be aware of other spectators.

Does my coach need a pass?

Coach passes are only provided to brown or black belts and have to be requested at least 2 weeks before the event.
If your request is before the 2 week deadline, please send the folowing details:
Name, Academy, belt colour and a photo of your face to info@allstarsbjj.co.uk
Once you have your coach pass you can use it for any future event.
If your request is within 2 weeks of the event, then we won't be able to produce your pass on time and you'll have to coach from the outside area of the mats, which is the same distance as inside.

What time does the event start?

-The full event schedule with division start timeswill be published on the website the week of the event, along with weigh in times.

How do i change my details (name, belt colour, weight, gender, academy name)?

-You can change your details on your Smoothcomp account, more details in the link below.

How can I pay if I don’t have PayPal?

-Follow the registration process. There is an option to pay via PayPal or using a credit or debit card, meaning you don’t need to create a PayPal account. Otherwise please contact us via email on info@allstarsbjj.co.uk for details to pay by bank transfer.

Is there a weight allowance on the day?

-No, if you do not make weight, you will be disqualified. Please note, no division changes will made once brackets are released.

When will the schedule be posted?

-The schedule will be available to view on Smoothcomp a week after registration has closed.


Gi divisions are first, followed by the Gi cash prize absolutes, then no-gi divisions. Once you have finished fighting in your division, if you have placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd, your medal will be presented on the podium within 15 minutes. Junior Gi divisions run first thing across all mats, then the adult and master divisions.

Should I report anywhere at a certain time?

-Athletes will need to be in the designated bullpen 30 minutes before their division is due to begin. A mat co-ordinator will then collect athletes from the bullpen, where they will be taken to their mat as advised.

No coaches or parents are allowed within the bullpen and staff area, though there is plenty of opportunity to spectate mat side around the remainder of the mat edges.

I’m old enough to compete at masters/seniors, though I would like to fight adult. Is this possible?

-Yes, you are welcome to fight down an age group, simply select the age category you wish to fight in when registering.

You are also welcome to fight both adult and master if you wish, though please understand that we cannot change the schedule to fit around this. Please contact us via email to discuss the details on how to register for the 2 age divisions.

What if there is no-one in my division by the time registration closes?

-You can move to a division that have someone or if that isnt an option for you we move you to any future event via credit.

I was matched with opponents in my division, but on the day none of them showed up to fight. Will I be refunded?

-In this scenario, you will be offered a credit to a future All Stars BJJ for the same division you registered in. Please speak to an event organiser on the day and follow up with an email after the event.

I registered early and now have an injury! Can I cancel my registration and recieved a refund?

-If you have contact us 2 weeks prior to the event taking place, then you may request to be transferred to a future event or a refund of your entry fee.
If requesting a refund please contact us on info@allstarsbjj.co.uk, and ensure you provide us with your Paypal transaction ID and name of the event you were due to attend.
If you have sent your email within 2 weeks of the event taking place, you may request a credit for a future event. Please send this request to info@allstarsbjj.co.uk, ensuring you provide us with the event you would like to use the credit towards.
